First time at a dim sum spot that was to go. You can order to sit down & eat but will be charged a service fee. There aren't many tables, maybe like 5 at most. Ordering was very easy. They take one order at a time. Just go up when it's your turn & tell the person what you'd like & they bag it for you. The dumplings were nice & warm. All the fried food was cold & not very crispy anymore. Overall, it was good. Fair prices. No complaints but also nothing to boast about. Wouldn't recommend the fried items unless you enjoy them cold or they bring them out fresh while you're there.
I've lived in the area for 4 years as did not realize they have been under my nose this whole time. They are located in the bel air parking lot with plenty of parking close to their own entrance. My hubby wanted some soup and yelp brought me to them for that but as i looked through the menu i saw so many great things. So i added pork buns, chicken buns and sesame balls. The price of their items and decent, i felt like it was worth it. I placed my order online and they had it ready within the time estimated, it was around 1pm when i went and it was empty so only the 2 workers i saw. The place looks like it would be a great sit down and try more. The pro bun was steamed nicely with a good flavorful amount of pork, i didn't get to try the chicken bun since my kids ate it but im guessing good. And the sesame balls were a good size. I was sad by the amino if red bean inside. That's my fav part so i wanted more but i know not many people appreciate a lot. Im excited to sit down and try other menu items soon.
It seems like I'm always here. And so glad it's near the house. Lucky me! Updating with my favorite pick ups from here.
Dim sum like you've never seen it before - at least not in the Sacramento area. Forget the long lines and wait times at other establishments. Come to this small and cozy shop with dim sum the size of Shaquille O'Neils palm! The flavor is just as big too! They have a huge variety in the freezer section as well in case you want to heat and eat at your convenience.
I've made it my mission to hit every Sacramento takeout dim sum spots and Sunday I had the chance to try Dim Dim Food. I can across this place just searching for dim sum spots near the pocket area as I had just dropped my partner off at work. Dim Dim Food was five minutes away so I decided to give it a go. As I walk in there was a good amount of people already in line to get their grub on. There is some seating inside for those who want to eat in house but it's not like you're traditional dine in experience. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful walking you through the ordering process. I ordered the siu mai and har gow as those are really my only go-tos anywhere I go. The siu mai was packed with flavor and meat and was very tasty. The har gow was also very good and not as chewy as some of the places I've had it at. Overall I would definitely recommend this spot to any dim sum enthusiasts. It's very much worth the drive from wherever you're located in the Sacramento area. For me this is the second best takeout dim sum spot I've had. Props to Dim Dim Food.
Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, this spot is a hidden gem for dim sum lovers! 5 stars for the quick in and out dim sum fast food. It's quick, convenient, and perfect for a fast bite or to grab food to go. If you want to dine in, there's seating available, though most people seem to opt for takeout. The food is not only affordable but also pretty large. I arrived at noon when it was pretty busy, but the wait was surprisingly fast. The dim sum was incredibly fresh -- you could tell they were making more food as it ran out, ensuring great quality even during the rush. They speak both English and Cantonese, making it easy to order, and the menu offers plenty of options. I'm already planning to return soon! Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.
My family loves coming here to get their frozen dim sum items! Perfect to keep in your freezer and you can have dim sum whenever you want at home! Their pork siu mai is plump and delicious. They also have a chicken one that I want to try! The chiu chow dumpling is a family favorite. It's savory and a little spicy. It does have peanuts inside, so beware if you're allergic. They have some of the best steamed buns, you can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite is the bbq pork bun! I like how they don't use food coloring to make the pork red like most other dim sum places. Mainly for takeout, but they do have a couple tables for dine-in as well!
Recently Learned about this place and I decided to try it. Service was quick and the place is clean. Arrived around 2 PM in the afternoon and they still had a decent amount of choices. They were sold out of about a third of their selections and only had a couple portions left of others. I would suggest to arrive early so you can have more choices. I got a few different things, including chicken, dumplings, shrimp and chive dumplings , fried taro, fried shrimp balls, beef noodle, and Matcha sesame ball. They put a decent amount of filling within the dumplings and everything had great flavor. They had more options than ABC bakery typically has by the afternoon. I loved the matcha sesame ball! It was my first time having this type from a dim sum place. I will definitely return to try other things.
First time here and we were extremely happy with their Big Buns. Not only are they huge but the filling inside is more than other places we've purchased from. Very flavorful and lot of bun for a great price $3! We also liked their fried shrimp balls, egg tarts, and regular size buns. What we didn't like were the chicken pies & curry beef pies (minuscule filling) and the ham sui guk (super greasy, minuscule filling.) Service here was top notch! Our counter helper was patient with me and sweet to my mom. We came later in the day when a lot of the selections were picked through, but everything still tasted fresh.
